Attendance

If your child is going to be absent for any reason it is essential that you let us know as soon as possible.

It is important that you phone, text, or email the school to confirm your child’s absence and provide the reason.

We recognise that there are genuine reasons students may occasionally be absent. However, without regular attendance, your child may struggle to make consistent progress. If absences become frequent or extend over a longer period, we will contact you to discuss the situation.

We are committed to supporting your child to attend school regularly. If you are experiencing difficulty getting your child to school, you can seek support by emailing your child’s Homeroom teacher, Learning Advisor, or Pastoral Manager. We can work with you to develop a support plan that addresses any barriers to attendance. Regular attendance is defined as fewer than five days absent per term.

When reporting an absence, kindly provide the following information:

Your name

Child’s full name and year level

A complete reason for their absence (please note these must be detailed for coding attendance)

For more information on absences, justified and unjustified, as determined by the current government please refer to our Newsletters, Facebook and information home.
