COVID Update – 2 May
May 2, 2022
Kia ora everyone,
It’s great to be back!
I hope you have all had a good break. I thought that I would provide a quick update on our COVID situation on day 1 of Term 2. I’m pleased to report that we are at 90% attendance today which is almost back to normal for the time of year. Only 5% of our absences today are directly due to COVID. You will see from the numbers below that a large proportion of our school community have had COVID and have returned to school. Because of this, I will not be providing daily updates, unless our numbers increase dramatically over the next couple of days. At this stage my next update will be in Friday’s newsletter.
As we are now operating under the Orange setting, mask wearing is encouraged but not compulsory. Those wishing to wear a mask will be supported to do so. However, we do request that you continue to send your child to school with a mask should we need to ‘mask up’ for any reason.
Here’s our daily summary:
Total Positive Cases: 97 students and 8 staff members
Current Cases: 7 students and 1 staff member
Recovered students back at school: 90
Current Isolating Household Contacts: 7 students
Take care,
Jo Hunnikin
